We’ll Brexit-proof your Sailing holiday!

It’s just under a year to go until Brexit-day, but, despite the fact that the exact outcome of negotiations is still up in the air, we recently announced in a press release that we were putting our customers first by offering to Brexit-proof their holidays!

We’ll Brexit-proof your Sailing holiday!

We’re starting to get enquiries for summer 2019, but there’s a clear and understandable reticence on the side of our customers, who aren’t sure if they want to gamble on booking a Greek or Croatian Yacht Charter when they can’t be sure if they can even get out to it! (Charter cancellation fees can be a hefty 50% of the total charter fee if the yacht isn't subsequently re-booked).

With airlines and travel companies also urging caution (and Ryanair even retaining the right to cancel all their flights if...), it’s easy to see why people will be put off from booking.  It’s all a bit ridiculous, and it means that people travelling from the UK will be scared away by cancellation fees, and so will sit idly by as all the best and newest yachts and catamarans get booked up for the summer.  We don’t think that’s fair - so we’re offering to Brexit-proof your holiday!

Put simply, book your charter with us and, if it comes to the worst (and you can’t get out of the UK to your yacht or catamaran in Greece or Croatia) we’ll make sure that you don’t go out of pocket. We’ll settle any cancellation fees and refund you all the money you’ve paid (and we can even help you sort you out an alternative charter in the UK instead).

That’s because we want to give you peace of mind that you can go ahead and book a delightful sailing trip, and you don’t need to worry about Brexit spoiling your holiday.

Hopefully everything will be sorted out in due course, and there won’t be any impact from Brexit on holidaymakers, but until we’re all sure (and bear in mind that “nothing is agreed until it is all agreed”), we can only recommend that you book with PlainSailing.com.

Incidentally, whilst we’re on Brexit implications, it seems that there will be no change to sailing licenses required to charter a yacht or catamaran bareboat in the Med - these are controlled by National law (as opposed to an umbrella EU law), so any changes would require local legislation in Greece or Croatia.
