Take the Game of Thrones yacht tour!
Tuesday, 10th January 2017Game of Thrones is watched intently by over 300m around the world, (and that’s just the ones we know about – it also won the Guinness world record for being the most pirated show on TV!), and is now in its sixth massive season.
For those of you who are not in the know, most of the filming is done on location in Croatia – including some of the most memorable scenes when they have literally hired out the whole of the walled-city of ancient Dubrovnik for epic and incredible action! (Without wanting to spoil it for anyone, Dubrovnik is where that famous beheading scene took place, and the one with the crazy axe-man, plus countless suicides!)
Dubrovnik and Croatia were already amazing places to sail (with good winds, guaranteed sunshine and exceptional facilities), but now there’s even local tours by yacht which can take you to some of the key filming locations from the epic series which are predominantly up and down the coast in Dubrovnik, and including a day on land where visitors can dress up as their favourite Game of Thrones character, eat food like they make for Jon Snow, and get muddy and/or violent and/or naked in the barren moonscape-terrain!
