Real-time booking – coming soon!
We know that it’s frustrating when you try and buy something online, only to be told – after you’ve been through all the rigmarole of entering your address and payment details – that they website is actually out of stock, and can’t get you what you want. And chartering a yacht used to be pretty much exactly the same – you find a beautiful yacht, only to find that someone else has already booked it for the week you wanted, and all your hours of research have been wasted.
When we started our company, sorting out the mess of availability issues was one of the key things we wanted to achieve – and, after three years of tireless work, we’re finally making an impact. We asked for a better service for our customers, and the yacht owners have agreed.
Coming soon, we’re going to start offering REAL-TIME availability and instant confirmations for our yachts in Croatia. This means no more clicking around for the fun of it. Real-time availability on PlainSailing.com means you’ll know exactly which boats are available, how much they’ll cost, and you can book them and pay a 30% deposit in a matter of clicks.
Exchanging how we price foreign yachts
The other main change you’ll notice in the next few weeks is that yachts in Greece and Croatia will now be priced in Euro’s – that’s because, with GBP tumbling against the euro, it’s proven almost impossible to work out how much to charge you for the yacht (since we agree the price with the charter company in euro’s)!
Previously, we’ve accepted the hit on currency fluctuations on behalf of our customers, but we just don’t know where this is going to end up – if newspaper speculation is to be believed, then it might be better for people to pay for the charter in full now, instead of putting up a deposit and paying the rest next summer (when the pound might be worth even fewer euro’s than it is today.
