Alimos (Kalamaki) Marina
Alimos Marina is the largest marina in Athens, with over 1080 berths for yachts, and superb facilities - including three bars/restaurants.
Nearby, there is a thriving local town centre with an array of shops and nightlife, plus great local beaches, and easy tram-access to Athens city centre, which is 15km away.
The marina houses the headquarters of a number of well-established and popular Greek yacht charter companies, who maintain their boats to a high standard.
Athens has over 3.7m inhabitants, and is most famous for being the home of, well, civilization. The ancient greeks essentially invented democracy, as well as gifting so much more to the world - like science, medicine and mathematics.
The city centre oozes history - with the acropolis taking centre stage, and visible from most of the centre - and, as a result, is often ram-packed with tourists during the summer. Modern day Athens is just as appealing, with a lively nightlife and some brilliant cuisine - in my opinion, nothing comes close to a classic Greek salad.
Things to see and do
The city centre of Athens is an open-air museum, with many sites being accessible free of charge. The acropolis and acropolis museum are the main highlights, but the view over Athens from Dionysis rock is equally spectacular.
Near to Alimos marina, there are a number of public or private beaches, and some simply incredible beach bars, which turn into heaving nightclubs after 1am.

Where to Sail
From Alimos marina, you can explore the Saronic islands - Aegina is famous for their pistacio nuts, Poros for it's vibrant taverna's, and Hydra for the incredible stepped-town which is a joy to behold after a few hours at sea.

Alimos marina is very easily accessible from Athens city centre, which, as you would expect of the capital of Greece, is well connected by road, rail, sea and air.
The marina is 33km away from Athens airport, which is about a 25 minute taxi-ride (45 euros) or can be done by bus in 90 minutes (get the X96 for 5 euros), or metro (changing at Sytagma square and getting off at Alimos marina, for 8 euros).
