PlainSailing.com

Even more Award-winning!

PlainSailing.com picked up another THREE awards over lockdown – including a prestigious Travel & Hospitality Award 2020 - but it’s been hard to celebrate given the current trading conditions.

Bad news for the travel industry

The Lockdown across Europe has been a painful experience for the whole of the travel industry – travel bans and planes being grounded are bad news for holiday-makers, and bad news for the people that provide services for them.

Things are slowly picking up, but there’s continued uncertainty as people are unsure whether they’ll be able to even travel next week, month, year – let alone whether it is safe. Throw the upcoming Brexit disaster into the mix, with the potential new visa issues, uncertainty over trading tariffs, and the re-introduction of painful mobile roaming charges and increased travel insurance costs putting customers off travelling, and the next few months seem pretty bleak for the Travel industry as a whole too.

 Good news for PlainSailing.com

Against this back-drop, it’s been tough to celebrate good news – but there has been some excellent news for PlainSailing.com as well during lockdown: namely, we picked up another THREE industry awards - which recognise our brilliance in providing outstanding holidays, and exceptional customer service – and a nomination in the British Travel Awards!

In the prestigious global Travel & Hospitality Awards, we were named their Sailing Company of the Year 2020, beating strong competition. And we won twice in the UK Enterprise awards, picking up gongs for both Sailing Enterprise of the Year – Europe and a Travel & Travel Customer Service Excellence Award – Europe. Three monumental achievements, which reward the serious hard work and dedication our team put into each and every holiday booking we take. Our team are all working remotely at the moment, but we’ll have to come up with a way for a (socially distanced) celebration!

And whilst we’re talking about awards, we’re very proud to have been nominated for a British Travel Award! We’ve made it through to the final stages of their award, which includes an online vote (which we’ll no doubt let you all know when voting opens!) This is one of the biggest awards in the industry in the UK, and means a glitzy awards ceremony in London!
