your itinerary
We've spent years honing the perfect itinerary for a week of fantastic sailing - taking in all the must-see attractions, and mixing it with a few trips off the beaten-track.

Saturday - Getting on board
Hope you’re ready for a relaxing week of sailing, sunshine and superyachts? On arrival at the airport, we’ll take you by private transfer to the marina in Kotor. With our VIP check-in service, you should be on the boat before 2pm, which will give you plenty of time to get used to life on board a boat, meet your skipper and hostess, listen to a safety briefing, and, of course, relax and enjoy the sunshine.

Sunday - Sailing to Herceg Novi
It’s time to get out to sea! You’re starting the week with sailing in the incredible Kotor bay natural fjord, which means the boat will be surrounded by mountains. The destination for the first night is the castle-town of Herceg Novi which is the first settlement inside the fjord and which has an old town to explore, mud baths to wallow in, and a bohemian and arty atmosphere.

Monday - Sailing to Budva
You’ll be heading out to the Montenegro’s Adriatic coastline with the wind in your sails on the second day, following the dramatic coastline south to the wonderful Budva, which is the most popular tourist town in the country, as well as being one of the oldest (at 2,500 years old). There’s over 35 beaches, a great range of restaurants, and in the peak of summer it’s possible to party all night long.

Tuesday - Sailing to Bar
Day three of sailing sees you heading further south to the port-town of Bar. En-route, you’ll pass lots of irresistible beaches and it’s worth stopping to check out the idyllic town of Petrovac, a traditional Montenegrin sea-side town. Bar is best known for it’s old town, which was abandoned by the locals in the 17th century and is an amazing snapshot of what life was like way back when. Bar also produces the best olives in the country.

Wednesday - Sailing to Lustica Bay
From the old to the new - on the fourth day, you’ll sail from ancient Bar back northwards to the newly built resort in Lustica Bay. It’s such a beautiful and sunny area that they decided to build not just a marina here, but a whole functioning village, complete with houses, hotels, restaurants, and even a local golf course. The whole resort should be fully open in 2019.

Thursday - Sailing to Tivat
You’ll be sailing back into the picturesque Kotor bay fjord area, passing Herceg Novi and onwards to Tivat. Once a quiet back-water, the naval base here has been transformed into the biggest and most luxurious marina in the world - Porto Montenegro - complete with 6-star hotels and the world’s longest yacht berth - meaning they can park superyachts up to 250m in length in here.

Friday - Sailing to Kotor
It’s only a short sail back around the bay area to Kotor, so you should have time to check out all that Porto Montenegro has to offer, hit the beach, or get a good close sail-by of the ‘Our lady on the Rocks’ church on an island. Arriving back in Kotor, you can explore the marvellous old town or walk up to the Castle of San Giovanni on the hillside above the town for magnificent views.

Second Saturday - Disembarking
And then it’s time to say farewell to the boat, the skipper and the hostess. To enable the boat to be ready for the next guests, you’ll have to disembark at 9am on Saturday morning and get a private transfer back to the airport, or onwards to your next port of call. Travelling by car will feel pretty mundane, so you’ll likely already be thinking about planning your next sailing holiday…
