How to give back? #CleanMarine

After a brilliant 2017 season, PlainSailing.com have officially landed as a key player in the Greek and Croatian yacht charter market. So now it’s time for us to start giving back – both to Croatia and Greece and to sailors around the world – but we’ll need your help!

The world is, depressingly, getting more and more polluted as time goes by, and there have been a  few times this season when we’ve been shocked at the level of litter that we’ve seen on some beautiful beaches abroad: from plastic bottles to broken nets, and discarded barbecues to shopping trolleys.

To help to do our bit, in 2018, we’re hoping to launch our #CleanMarine initiative, where we’re hoping to encourage each and every one of the boats we charter to spend 30 minutes of their time filling one bin bag with rubbish collected from a remote sunkissed beach.  We’ll get them to evidence their efforts on twitter using the hashtag #CleanMarine, and reward them with a prize (obviously, this is not something that everyone will be mad keen to do, so we’re wondering how to incentivise them to do it?) – which is where this consultation comes in.

For you and your crew to give a little time to collecting rubbish, would you rather receive:

  1. We award you £50 off your next PlainSailing.com charter
  2. We make a £30 donation to a relevant sailing charity
  3. We make a £25 payment to your paypal account, so you can buy beers to celebrate your clean-up efforts
  4. Something else? (ideas please?)

Please get in touch via twitter or email, and lets make the 2018 season a brilliant year all round
