Coronavirus Update

We’re monitoring news of the Coronavirus across Europe very closely and will keep our customers updated as the situation progresses.

Last updated: Monday 2nd November October 2020

The main European sailing season is over, but there’s still great sailing to be had - you can sail all-year-round in the Canary islands. This is how we understand the current situation:

 Current travel restrictions

You should refer to your own Governments’ travel advice and rules to understand whether it is possible to visit a country, or any rules on self-quarantining on your return – at the moment (2nd November), people arriving in the UK from our charter destinations in Croatia, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Malta, Montenegro and France are required to self-quarantine for 14 days after landing in the UK, but the UK Government is advising against all non-essential travel from 5th November to 2nd December 2020 as part of the second UK National lockdown.

Travellers from outside of Europe may also need to wait for wider European border regulations to relax, and / or require testing or quarantine upon arrival in the EU. You can see the latest travel restrictions or advice at the official EU Coronavirus website: reopen.europa.eu

What rules are in place for bookings for 2021?

At the moment, most operators are being generous with bookings for the 2021 season, and some are even offering full refunds in the event that Coronavirus continues to cause travel problems in 2021. In general, we can also book your charter with a low deposit, with the balance due as little as two weeks prior to the charter start date. The best way to make a 2021 booking is to book a €20 'Hold for 48 hours' which books the boat whilst we work out the specifics with you (and the operator). If you decide not to go ahead, we'll give you a full refund of your €20.

In the coming days, we hope to announce a new Coronavirus booking policy, where we will need only a 25% deposit, and with FREE Coronavirus insurance which means we will be able to issue you a full cash refund in the event that you have to cancel your holiday due to Coronavirus.
