Thursday, 14th June 2018Our new destination guides are the best in the business – they cover everything from where to sail and what weather to expect, to what to see and where to eat, sleep or drink in the local area.
We’ve just updated our destination guides for our eighteen bases in Greece and Croatia. From Athens to Zadar, our expert team have been using their local knowledge to compile the most comprehensive, informative and useful ‘Sailors guides to…’ in the world, ever!
We’ve tried to answer all of the questions we’ve ever had about each destination, as well as thinking about all the things that we normally like to know about somewhere when we go sailing – so they cover almost everything:
Prevailing wind & weather conditions
They include details of what weather and winds you can expect on your travels, and where it will be coming from, so that you can start to think about your passage plans before you even get on an aeroplane.
Suggested Itineraries and top three places to see
Better than that, if planning your own route is something you’re not so confident on, they also have suggested itineraries (with maps) to help you make the most of your week-long trip, and to make sure you see the best that there is to see in each local area. Read them and get a flavour of what life will be like out in the Med. Or just head to the top three highlights of the area, as picked by our sailing experts!
Information about the marina and how to get there
There’s detailed information about how to get to the marina – whether you want to travel in style with a private transfer, or if you’re more interested in local public transport options – plus information about the marina, it’s facilities, and where you can find the nearest supermarket.
What to do in the local area
You’ll spend at least a couple of nights in your home marina, so we’ve included some things to see and do there, plus the best places to go for a bite to eat or to grab a couple of beers. If your flights means you’ll also be staying over on land, we’ve also picked a few of our favourite hotels, where we stay if we’re in the area.
